On TV, you'll see pro golfers swinging away in beautiful courses all over the world. Sometimes the tournaments are on the coast or near a mountain range, but it never really gets more interesting that. What if golf could take you to different places, perhaps to the middle of an earthquake, in a labyrinth or even 20,000 leagues under the sea?Use our San Francisco route planning app to add Urban Putt and other attractions to your San Francisco vacation plans.
Urban Putt is that mini-golf experience. Inside this historic building lies a high-tech 14 hole golf course, designed by local designers, artists and engineers to create an experience that is equal parts Jules Verne, Rube Goldberg, Exploratorium and Maker Faire. Putt through an earthquake, or navigate a maze, or guide your ball onto a 11-foot-high Archimedes screw and listen as it bounces off a battery of drums, cymbals, and bells. At Urban Putt, imagination gets free rein.
We applied that same imagination and talent to our food, creating award-winning takes on traditional American favorites, and sticking local to source the best ingredients. Our drinks menu is just as wondrous, with a wide selection of imaginative combinations and traditional deliciousness. Together, each part comes together to make Urban Putt the perfect venue for a first date, family outing, or corporate event.
Come take that first swing.
Urban Putt reviews
Enjoyed everything about this spot, from the cool bar to the amazing and creative holes. Thoughtful touches, such as little stands next to each hole for resting your beer. Love! more »
Urban Putt never fails to show you a good time as long as it's not too busy which, every now and then, it can become. The staff, from the moment you walk in, is terrific. Shanice, at the front desk... more »
What an amazing place! We started our evening at the restaurant on the second floor. The food was delicious, service was great, and the drinks were good. The food wasn't too pricey but I do think the drink prices are a bit steep considering how small they are. After dinner, we went downstairs to pay for mini golf. The woman at the register had great customer service and gave my boyfriend a free game since it was his birthday. There was a bit of a line to begin playing, but we got drinks from the bar and observed the other players while we waited. Each course was very unique and exciting. Some were more challenging than others but it was all fun. The place isn't too big so we ended up in a couple traffic jams with other players. You're allowed to bring your drinks on the course and tables are provided at each hole. We went on Wednesday night and it was surprisingly packed. Everyone we met was really nice and we plan to come back!
Loved my experience at Urban Putt! This place is a great place in the city to play indoor mini golf and also enjoy a beer or two while you're there. I love the attention to detail they have for the golf course. They have a lot of fun contraptions that the golf balls go through and I've never seen this done before. It does get pretty busy at night though, so be warned as it's a pretty small area and you'll have to wait before each hole. But overall it's still a great time if you're looking for a fun night out in the mission.
