I have always had an interest in the diverse history of San Francisco and was recommended to check into the Beats history tour through the Beat Museum. I had an idea of some of the history surrounding the impact of the Beats culture in SF and the US but was amazed at how much I didn't know. Ryan, our tour guide, showed me the actual spots where so much history took place in the movement and also explained how important this misunderstood subculture affects our everyday liberties here in the U.S. The next tour will be the Barbary Coast tour followed by one of the many recommendations for great food and beer. Great mixture of history and exercise while enjoying the beautiful city of SF.
