Zoomars at River Street Ranch, San Juan Capistrano

#2 of 16 in Things to do in San Juan Capistrano
Zoo · Zoo / Aquarium
Here at ZOOMARS you'll meet kunekune pigs, super sweet sheep, loveable llamas and friendly cows. Feed apples to the zeedonks, hear turkeys gobble for grapes and watch the odd-looking emu as she stretches her neck for carrot. Follow Tonka the tortoise as he cruises the grounds while a mommy hen and her chicks scurry by.

Hop in the bunny patch to cuddle with cottontails, and then brave the goat pen for some very big hugs!

There's more to do than petting too.

We've got a playground, a corn box, mini-train, even horses and ponies to ride! Grab a snack in our coffee shop then stroll the historic district and step back in time.

Innocent, old-fashioned and amazingly affordable.

We're big-time fun at a guinea-pig price. ZOOMARS is geared mostly for preschoolers but a hoot for all ages. Most families need about two hours for a good visit but you're welcome to stay all day. Dress comfortably and be prepared to get a little dusty...you are on a farm after all.

  • My 6 year old grand daughter loves this place. Be sure to check out the entire place, not just the petting zoo part.  more »
  • Located in the Los Rios Historic district. Place to take the family to see horses, emus, guinea pigs and more. Also features a small train and lots of hay bales.  more »
  • Super cute place. The kids had hours of fun feeding animals, on train and riding the ponies... and my 4 year old loved the pit of corn to play in. I understand it’s a lot of upkeep but it is NOT cheap. I paid about $70 to get in and enjoy the activities. You pay for everything except the corn pit plus and entrance fee. Nicely located in heart of old San Juan Capistrano so it’s easy walking distance to other things.
  • I love this petting zoo, and so does my baby! It has a little bit of everything, guinea pigs, rabbits, actual pigs, llamas, horses, goats and even a gorgeous Emu. It is definitely worth checking out. The staff was incredible too, the manager of the animals was really sweet and knowledgeable. Definitely check it out!
