Loved it! What a Liberating experience! Used to visit in my 20s, kept my bathing suit on. Was a bit shy. Last time was 2008. Wanted to come back to strip for the full experience. Now, 2020, 3 times... more »

We visited Gunnison beach a few weeks ago. This was mine and my partner's first experience going to a clothing optional beach and we had a fantastic time! Although this was the first time for both of us, we didn't feel nervous about stripping down because the atmosphere and is so laid back and free of judgement. It was such and awesome and freeing experience being able to swim, sunbathe, and just chill in the nude. Definitely will be coming back. :)

I genuinely enjoy this beach, very clean and relaxing. The downside is the fact that there is a side where clothing is required. Why? There's so many other beaches within the same area that the clothed people can go to. This makes the nude side very packed and very difficult to remain respectfully spacious. The other thing is there are security guards/ officers that walk around making sure everyone's following the rules however the rules differ with each guard. For example, closed tents are not permitted which is understandable. We bought an opened "sun protection" tent which is opened entirely on one side and clear mesh on the other. We have been there multiple times and no issues. Our last time there the guard said it's considered a tent and requested we take it down leaving us with zero coverage from the sun. The walk to get on the beach is extremely long. It's just a shame... this could be a much better experience.
