  • This is a quick but worthwhile stop. It is not far off the main road and easy to find. There isn’t a lot of parking but it’s sufficient at least when I was there. A short walk to an absolute...

  • Beautiful view of Mt. Hood I'd breathtaking even on a hazy smoke filled day. These pictures don't show it well, but what looks like clouds is actually smoke from the fires in central Oregon drifting North August 19th, 2022 (left is north in these pictures). The river below is the Sandy, which flows N/NW to the Columbia a few miles further from here. Parking is tight. RVs and buses are supposed to be able to get in, but they'll be squeezing through. Consider parking on a side street and walking over to the viewpoint if you have a big rig or trailer. Enjoy the view and Oregon pioneer history!
  • I grew up driving past this every day. The view is freaking amazing and so worth it! This last time I went back home, I got up and went to the viewpoint to watch the sunrise. I love this place.
