Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens houses a small zoo in a tropical tree-filled setting that also features a tree-to-tree aerial course, water playground, miniature railway, and carousel. Visit the zoo and feed the giraffes, wander through the herpertarium to see reptiles and amphibians, and see the fossa, the largest predatory animal of Madagascar. In the adventure park, a zipline course runs through the tree canopy, allowing you to view the world as tree-dwelling animals do. Bring your swimsuit and cool off in the Wharton-Smith tropical splash ground. A little train takes you along a 1.6 km (1 mi) track through wetlands, woods, and a long tunnel. My two sons’ and I have visited many amazing zoos in the past. Our family loves visiting the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens in Florida. My Youngest son Rain wants to be a Zoologist after he graduates from high school. Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens has some of the most beautiful zoo animals in the world. This amazing zoo has the most breathtaking botanical garden located north of Orlando, Florida. The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is near the intersection of I-4 & Hwy 17-92 near the city of Sanford. This awesome zoo has been an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 2011.

Started going there last year to meet my grandson for a day at the zoo, but it has become an anytime visit place. Lovely zoo, plenty of shade and seating areas to rest and just watch the animals. Signage about each animal is informative and attractive. Their Asian Lantern Festival is AMAZING and well worth the cost. Grounds and animal enclosures are clean and well maintained. I've been to zoos all over the country and this one, though moderate in size, is lovely and worthy of citizens and state support. The hour drive from where I live is well worth the experience with the animals.
