More than 40 years ago, our founding president Jerry Harwin had a unique vision to transform an unattractive closed landfill into a magnificent regional park. Today, Elings Park is considered the crown jewel among Santa Barbara’s recreational sites, providing high quality recreational facilities for over 260,000 visitors annually. It is also a model for other communities, demonstrating that a nonprofit foundation can maintain and operate for public benefit an extraordinary park without the use of a single taxpayer dollar. Our mission is to create a park where people of all ages, races and socioeconomics backgrounds can play together, reconnect, and thrive – a park built by the community and for the community, thanks to a non-profit/public partnership. To visit Elings Park and other attractions in Santa Barbara, use our Santa Barbara trip itinerary builder app .

This is a huge multi-level Park with soccer fields, a softball field. Areas for weddings, areas for parties. It has a play structure for children. From BMX racing, to hidden areas for private parties. This park has it all! Fantastic hiking trails and even a veterans memorial walkway. It is dog friendly but you do have to have a specific permit to bring your dog onto the property. there are often weddings or parties being held on the weekends, so you may have to pay for parking on the weekends.
Great place for sports and a wedding venue as well. The have nice fields and games ranging from soccer, lacrosse, baseball softball and both men's rugby and women's rugby. The men's rugby club is called the Grunion and the women's rugby club is called the Mermaids. The usually hold rugby training open to anyone on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the top fields. find both clubs on Facebook and show up to one of their training, it's a work out and great competition for those that like contact sports. Those rugby people sure know how to have a good time!!!
