Housed in a building inspired by local pueblo-style architecture, New Mexico Museum of Art places special focus on displaying works from local artists or those with ties to the region and state. Stop by the state-run museum and explore its extensive collection of nearly 20,000 different pieces. Don't miss different exhibitions focused on colonial-era and Native American art. Join a guided tour, led by a museum docent and included in the cost of admission, to learn more about specific themes, techniques, and historical aspects related to the works within. Alternatively, you can opt for a museum-led walking tour of artwork throughout the city's downtown section. Before you visit Santa Fe, use our trip planner to discover what you can do and see there.

I love it! It’s small but it has great exhibitions and the building and it’s courtyard are amazing. I really appreciate that they really care about audience engagement, there were several stations with activities connected to the exhibitions as well as descriptions of several used art techniques.

This is a great little museum with a nice variety of work on display. Seeing a landscape by Georgia OKeefe and new Ansel Adams acquisitions was a pleasant surprise. The architecture of the building is fantastic and the artwork fits so well with it. Definitely check out both levels and outdoor spaces.
