Tongva Park is a 6.2-acre park in Santa Monica, California. The park is located just south of Colorado Avenue, between Ocean Avenue and Main Street. The park is named after the indigenous Tongva people, who have lived in the Los Angeles area for thousands of years.

The park includes an amphitheater, playground, garden, fountains, picnic areas, and restrooms. An overlook offers scenic views of the Pacific Ocean and of the Santa Monica Pier.

Notable trees in the park include "Morty," a large Moreton Bay Fig Tree (Ficus macrophylla) and the "Three Amigos," three Rusty Fig (Ficus rubiginosa) trees each weighing over 100 tons. The "Three Amigos" were moved 550 ft from their prior location at the intersection of Main Street and Olympic Drive and replanted in the park.
A Santa Monica City Ordinance prohibits smoking in any City park.
The park was dedicated on October 13th, 2013.

  • Has a great place for kids. Nice area to walk, park benches, it was nice to just sit for a few and let the kids work off some energy.  more »
  • I don't know if it's worth coming from out of town expressly to visit, but it's a very pretty little park, worth a visit after the beach or shopping.  more »
  • This is a great little park between main street and 3rd street promenade. Quiet, easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs. Public restroom available, small children's playground with small water play area, so bring a change of clothes for the kids. Our family always stopped here for a play whilst walking around the Santa Monica pier or shopping areas. Perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle whilst still been in the centre of things.
  • This is a beautiful city park near the Santa Monica Pier with interesting fountains, architectural details and a few play areas for kids. It's well-staffed by city employees who maintain the grounds and bathroom areas. Because it's in a high-traffic area, I wouldn't come here by myself, but it's a fun place to come with friends. Pro Tips: - If you're in the area, they have exceptionally clean and well-kept public restrooms! - There's parking in Santa Monica Place, which is about a 5 minute walk
