Sarasota Jungle Gardens, Sarasota
See a variety of tropical and exotic plants and animals in the lush Sarasota Jungle Gardens. Stroll the winding pathways, pausing to admire the lakes and groves along the way. Visit the gardens to observe native creatures, such as egrets, ducks, and lizards, as well as animals from other warm-weather ecosystems. Don't miss what is perhaps the premier attraction: the park's flock of pink flamingos. They wander the grounds and gladly accept treats and affection from visitors. Stop by one of the shows, such as keeper demonstrations, starring the resident birds and reptiles. If you're lucky, you may even take home a photo posing with one of the colorful or scaly creatures. The shows fill up fast, so arrive early to get a good seat. This is a great place to visit for a few hours. The kids love the flamingos that are walking around. Some of the animal exhibits are a bit jaded but it is worth a walk around. Cafe serves good lunch f... more »
Not much to see here. The gardens are pretty and there's a show or two (get there early as they are only a few times). Feeding the flamingos was fun. However if you've been to any other gardens, you've probably seen better ones already. Good for a local stop. Otherwise pass.
The Sarasota Jungle Gardens is one of my favorite places in Florida! It’s a must see, especially for children. They have zoo keeper talks throughout the day and multiple shows to go see. Kids (and adults) can feed flamingos, baby alligators, swans, and coy fish as well as pet animals in the petting zoo and pose with a parrot on your shoulder. Besides all of that, it’s a beautiful place to walk through with an array of plants and flowers. It’s some serious fun and I can’t recommend it enough!
