  • Okay, in all fairness, we were at John W Kyle during a non-peak time. February. We arrived after dark and could never find our site. Very poorly marked spots. We finally got settled the next day. The park was in bad condition. Limbs and trees down everywhere. No bathrooms or showers were open except one which was very far away from our "prime" spot. The spot we chose was listed on their site as one of the best, 285, however they shoved 5 spots very close together to just to see a small bay. On top of that, one of the ranger's single wide trailer bouse was right next door with a yard full of material and equipment. It was an eyesore. There were also dogs barking non stop from somewhere. We were also there 3 days before we found someone to check us in. Maybe in the peak times the park is nice and well kept. They just were not ready for people yet. It has the potential to be a beautiful park.
  • Live 10 minutes away and still I enjoy every visit. Fishing is usually good. (Edit) The fishing use to be really good but not as much lately....
