Historic bamboo groves and trees planted in the early 20th century are found at what locals affectionately just nicknamed "the Bamboo Farm." Historically, it was a USDA plant introduction station, starting in 1919. Today, this newly developing regional botanical garden contains a regionally renowned camellia and cold-hardy palm collection as well as pick-your-own berry fields. Ornamental gardens include a cottage garden, extensive camellia trail, xeriscape garden, water garden, rose garden, Mediterranean garden and shade garden by the lakes. One greenhouse displays orchids.Use our Savannah trip itinerary builder website to add Botanical Garden and other attractions to your Savannah vacation plans.

The botanical gardens was amazing! Its a non-profit so I mean, how great is that for starters?! Also, they work so well with you. Our entire family loved how cute our wedding was. It was about 85-90 people who ended up showing up. They set up everything so well. Everyone was amazed by how beautiful it was. Our wedding was in June, but the trees and the water, we weren't hot at all. There were no complaints from any of the guests. The house was beautiful to get ready in. We had enough for about 7 girls in the room to be there. I can't explain how thankful I am for everything that they did in order to make my day wonderful! Thank you Betty!
Free ... They accept donations. Well labeled plants. Nice, informational divisions of plant types. Even our 3 year old found it interesting enough.
