My husband and I recently camped at Schodack island state park just south of Albany NY. Price was very reasonable with huge private camp sites.The park is on the Hudson River with tons of picnic... more »

We’ve been camping many many years but we’d have to say that this facility is clean, well kept and you can’t beat the price with many sites have up to 50 amp service. The campground was built in 2002.... more »

One of the newer NY State parks with a helpful staff and some of the cleanest and best equipped shower buildings. The hiking trails are easy and enjoyable. The bike trails are good especially for bikes with bigger tires. Open mic on Friday night with tasty food prepared by the local fire department was a lot of fun. On the negative side, the mosquitoes were worse than in other parks and the noise of freight trains at night was sleep depriving. Overall it was a pleasant stay because the place was well run and nearby Kinderhook a fun place to visit

Best boat launch in the Northeast that I have seen. Tried it twice for large and small mouth bass. Not good bass fishing in the area. Awesome facilities and park. If you're looking for boating fun this is a good place.
