  • Take a quick class at the Science Center. (Closed on our day). Read about Minnesota gardens. Follow the path down to the shore. Watch the waves or dig your hands into the rocks for the elusive agate!

  • Another neat place to learn a little history of the area and the environment around here. They have a nature center and office on-site. We were there on a rainy Tuesday, and they let us know they do more activities planned on Wednesdays and Thursdays. They have informational signs around talking about the logging of the past, the impact on the land, now primarily red pines and birch trees, and trying to fill in with firs and more pines as the birch reach their end of life. You can get to the shoreline, as well as out on the peninsula a bit.
  • Nice quiet area. Beautiful views and a cool small area that's not quite an island you can walk out to and around. The lady working at the nature center area ( 6/12/22 1400ish) was very polite and knowledgeable. Thank you!!
