The Sylvan Heights Bird Park is wonderful! We only had an hour and a half to spend there, but were glad we made the effort to visit. Be sure to buy a couple sticks with bird seeds at the entrance...

Took FOREVER to get to this venue, it is not near anything. Based on that, I planned for the trip carefully, or thought I had. Hopefully this will help others plan better. We drove to Scotland...

The park was very enjoyable. There was a variety of different birds to see and get up close and personal with (even if there was a fence between us). The landing zone was a really fun experience. Being able to feed the parakeets and flamingos was really awesome. I don't know enough about birds or the park to speak to how well the birds are being treated, but it seems pretty good from my perspective. My only complaint is actually about other guests. Several children were getting a little too aggressive with the birds in the landing zone. One child was squeezing a bird in his hand as it struggled to get away and the parents laughed and snapped pictures. Control your kids, people. These are living things. I'd definitely visit again one day.

I honestly cannot wait to come back to this park! I have told many people to visit this place, as it is clean, educational, and an experience unlike any other. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. The gift shop had everything you may want to take home as a reminder of the amazing time you spent at this park. There of course were some birds that I felt bad for, being in small enclosures, but they did not look sickly or depressed. These birds seem to be well taken care of, and loved by the staff. I would highly recommend this place to any bird or animal lovers.
