The Butterfield Cottage is the only beach cottage museum in Oregon. The Seaside Museum & Historical Society interprets the Butterfield Cottage to the era circa 1912.

Our beautiful grounds are maintained year-around by volunteers of the Sou'Wester Garden Club. Please leave yourself enough time to stroll through the gardens.

  • Very interesting facts and the host of the museum was very kind. He even found records of a cousin-in-law's ancestor who helped with the first lumber mill and was in the city counsel.
  • Very well organized, interesting look at the past. Reminded me of my grandfather and father. Thanks for the memories!
