Highline SeaTac Botanical Gardens, SeaTac

#4 of 6 in Things to do in SeaTac
Garden · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
HSBG was created in 2000 using historically significant private gardens saved from demolition by the expansion of the SeaTac Int'l Airport's construction of their 3rd runway. Between these two full-featured collections lie an eye-catching series of beds sponsored by local garden enthusiasts, including the Puget Sound Daylily Club, the King County Iris Society, and the Seattle Rose Society.

  • This free garden is worth the visit. It is maintained by volunteers and has several different areas to explore. Two gardens were moved to prevent their demolition when the airport added a third...  more »
  • This garden is both a visual beauty and a place of rich plant/theme history. The stories behind the creation of the garden are fascinating. Very close to SeaTac airport. Not to be missed!!  more »
  • I came across this beautiful little Botanical garden the other day while exploring my new home in Seattle. The grounds are immaculate. The magnificent garden is a work of art nestled into the landscape. Those who are caring for this garden obviously love it. You can feel it. Walking into the garden, there is a small stream meandering through beautiful plantings. To the left is a small rose garden, with a community garden beyond. This garden is a gem worth visiting. It may be small, but it has a charm about it. There is a park attached to this garden with a community center. I am looking forward to spending more time here.
  • So peaceful and beautiful ❤️ only suggestion would be to have more identification information on the flowers, trees and plants that are a part of the gardens. Some were marked others not. The gardener(s) do a fabulous job keeping the gardens stunning. A must see for anyone who loves nature.
