Golden Gardens Park, Seattle

#6 of 37 in Beaches in Washington State
Beach · Hidden Gem · Park
Escape the city at Golden Gardens Park, where you can stroll, sunbathe, fish, and frolic with canine friends. Follow the hiking trails through forest and restored native wetlands, or picnic in the grassy areas. Although the water usually remains too cold for swimming (even in summer), many choose to kayak or canoe here. Keep your eye out for the wealth of wildlife, including sea lions, beavers, and eagles. If you bring a dog, head to the off-leash area in the northern section of the park. Dogs are not permitted on the beaches or in children's play areas. • Great beach with a nice sunset view. Can get crowded in the evenings.
  • I went out on a walk on 85, there's a nice little path that goes down with some stairs and some looser terrain. It was fantastic to sit on one of the benches, taking photos, and keeping my eye out for any seals. Got to just drink my hot tea as the cold wind swept around me. The place has been pretty clean, no garbage in the water or sand.
