  • Once a great University District movie theater, now a concert venue. This is hardly in perfect condition. Expect lines to the bathrooms and a balcony 20 degrees warmer than the floor below, but that is not all that bad when you get good sound, an intimate setting for a good sized crowd and plenty to do around the ave before or after the show. In the 1960s my dentist was just upstairs and in the late 70s there was the weekend midnight showing or the Rocky Horror Picture Show. So for me the Neptune is about nostalgia and going there for shows is always a feel good time.
  • I have to say I'm genuinely surprised with how comfortable this venue was. I've been there to attend a comedy show and sat at the upper level, first row. The view of the stage was incredible, not far at all. Sure, the venue is old and looks a bit beat up but the seats were super comfortable, sound system was pretty good with no echoes and clear sound. Once you get over the tacky neptune-themed decor, everything else works :-)
