Waterfall Garden Park, Seattle

#19 of 61 in Parks in Seattle
Park · Nature / Park
Visit a Japanese garden right in the heart of old Seattle at Waterfall Garden Park, a park created by Masao Kinoshita. Following traditional Japanese design, Kinoshita added one thing: waterfalls. Stroll the grounds and let the numerous surrounding falls lull you with their surreal mountain setting. This attraction once housed the original United Parcel Service office, until it was moved in 1977. Consider bringing a picnic and enjoying a snack at one of the cafe-style tables. • If you want a quiet shady spot to rest while near Pioneer Square, stop in! The place is dedicated to the founding of UPS and has a single waterfall with seating facing the falling water. There’s a...  more »
  • So beautiful and serene. My boyfriend, our dog and I go get bubble tea from Seattle Best Tea, then get a pastry from the 85° Bakery, and go to the waterfall park and eat&drink everything there and just enjoy how peaceful it is. There is a security guard there, so no hoodlums hangout there, and it's a safe place to take a family or friends and feel like you're in the middle of nature, right in the city🥰🥰
  • Small and semi-hidden but worth the stop. A beautiful respite from the historic urban jungle of Pioneer Square. Doesn't open till 8am but you can peek in before then. The waterfall is off until they open. Easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Take a relaxing break on one of the chairs or bring your lunch.
