Hike through one of Arizona's most scenic Red Rock country box canyons at Boynton Canyon Trail. This trail is well-paved, easy to access, and not too vigorous, which makes it a favorite among tourists in the Sedona area. Part of Coconino National Forest, the trail features many plants and wildlife that thrive in the harsh, rock conditions of the canyon, such as white-tailed deer. You'll start your hike near a resort but will soon be on the canyon floor. Use our Sedona day trip planning tool to add Boynton Canyon Trail and other attractions to your Sedona vacation plans.

  • Went up to check out the vortex before sunrise. Views were amazing and parts of trail are moderate difficulty. The energy was balanced, both masculine & feminine. Nice place to meditate before it gets busy.
  • Beautiful hike! This is the subway. Lots of instructions can be found on how to get here. Our key recommendation is clock your mileage on your smart watch. In addition, look for the crocodile tree. Go around the left for the last steep path at the end.
