#2 of 21 in Wildlife in Sedona
Red Rock State Park is a 286 acre nature preserve and environmental education center with stunning scenery. Trails throughout the park wind through manzanita and juniper to reach the rich banks of Oak Creek. Green meadows are framed by native vegetation and hills of red rock. The creek meanders through the park, creating a diverse riparian habitat abounding with plants and wildlife. This riparian habitat provides the setting and the opportunity for the park to offer a focus on environmental education.

  • A very attractive small (280 ac.) park with riparian and red rock trails. Trails are well-built and well-marked and pack a lot of miles into a small area by wandering widely. Nice views of the Mogollon Rim to the north and the local buttes and mesas. Some recent history as well.
  • Red Rock State Park is the most beautiful place I've ever been to. There's countless trails to pick from. The park rangers are helpful. It's clean. I went in October and it wasn't hot. It's also close to restaurants and gas stations which is helpful.
