Good introduction to the Selma-Montgomery National Hist Trail. They helped us with maps and places to visit along the trail. We also got good suggestions on places to drive by in Selma, less visited..... more »
Very informative about the the prelude to the voting rights act. Selma itself is eerie - it's a town stuck in time. The downtown area has old architecturally interesting buildings that haven't been kept up, and the shops close by 2PM. The neighborhood near downtown had many nice well kept houses, but the rest of city looked decrepit.
Very well done, wonderful history lesson. Park Ranger very informed, pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend.
