National Park · Nature / Park
With a mix of mountains, ocean, glaciers, and wildlife, Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center is a natural wonder of beauty. This national park covers 270 ha (669,984 acres) of the Kenai Peninsula and is home to such animals as whales, seals, bears, moose, mountain goats, and bald eagles. One of the largest icefields in the United States, Harding Icefield is contained in the park and features about 40 glaciers. The largest of these glaciers is Bear Glacier. Only a small portion of the park is accessible by maintained hiking trails, including an easy hike to Exit Glacier and a more challenging trek to Harding Icefield. You'll need a boat (try one of the organized boat tours) to access to the rest of the rugged park. Put Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Seward trip planning tool.

  • This is a beautiful national park. The best way to see it is to take a boat cruise. We saw humpback whales feeding and the magnificent Holgate Glacier.  more »

  • Wow!! Amazing assortment of snow capped mountains, glaciers, and marine wildlife. Visited via boat from Seward. The vistas from the boat were incredible. Took many pics since every where you looked, every ocean bay offered different and photo worthy views. The one glacier visited close up was amazing with a minor calving when on location. Many harbor seals in the small glacial icebergs at base of glacier. The other Abundant wildlife seen included puffins, eagles, humpback whales, seals, and sea otters. see pics.
  • Nice informative theatre film about the area and people. Nice displays of seals and whales, Bet the kids really love it. Plus there is a representative there to answer your questions.
