Create an itinerary including Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center
With a mix of mountains, ocean, glaciers, and wildlife, Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center is a natural wonder of beauty. This national park covers 270 ha (669,984 acres) of the Kenai Peninsula and is home to such animals as whales, seals, bears, moose, mountain goats, and bald eagles. One of the largest icefields in the United States, Harding Icefield is contained in the park and features about 40 glaciers. The largest of these glaciers is Bear Glacier. Only a small portion of the park is accessible by maintained hiking trails, including an easy hike to Exit Glacier and a more challenging trek to Harding Icefield. You'll need a boat (try one of the organized boat tours) to access to the rest of the rugged park. Put Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Seward trip planning tool.

  • Very beautiful national park. We went in October while the visitor center was closed, but took the short, paved 1 mile round trip hike to Exit glacier. It was absolutely worth the experience.

  • Nice visitor center but small for such a large park. Good introductory movie. Rangers are very helpful. The hike at Exit Glacier is great.
  • What a day! Loved our trip to the glaciers. Saw Orcas, sea lions, sea otters, puffins, but sadly no humpbacks … this time. Our all female crew from Kenai Fiords Tours did a fantastic job. Love the fresh glacier ice margaritas.
