An open-air museum, Shelburne Museum houses more than 150,000 works depicting historic New England life. The Impressionist paintings, folk art, quilts and textiles, furniture, 17th- to 20th-century artifacts, and American paintings are housed in 38 exhibition buildings arranged to mimic historic New England architecture. Twenty-five of these buildings are historic and were relocated here for the museum. Three separate tours are offered daily and included in the price of admission. Learn about Colonial Revival, the history and mechanics of 1906 steamboat, or American art on the tour of your choice. Because the depth and scope of the museum is so huge, your ticket is good for two days. Make Shelburne Museum a centerpiece of your Shelburne vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Shelburne vacation website.

Always wonder if a repeat visit will live up to memory. 2021 crowds seemed to encourage the Museum to up the ante. The best was the walk through the woods. Call them fireflies or fairies, but that...

The buildings and grounds were very nice. If you enjoy art collections, this is the place for you. We did not enjoy the art collections and were a bit disappointed by that feature.

We visited here while on vacation. It was such an incredible experience. We had a group of eight, including two kids. We all had an amazing time wandering the grounds and exploring the exhibits. We were only there for a few hours, so we did not even get close to seeing everything. This is definitely on our list to return to when we go back to Vermont.

Wonderful experience! Every part of the Museum is its own exhibition by itself. One can spend hours in there. Some parts of the museum are really interactive, such as the Blacksmith and the Printer Shop. A huge memorabilia of American History. Tickets prices are above average, but it is worth it. The Museum organizes a lot of family activities and, in some circumstances, entrances are free. Enjoy!
