This is a really fun afternoon, a must-see if you are in the area (once the museum is open again). Fascinating to get an understanding of the history of mining in the Sierras, also a nice natural setting for the kids to run around.

Very good mine museum run by a local historical society. Definitely get a tour, otherwise you can get inside the buildings and get a feel for the way the work was done. Most of the equipment on site was brought from other mines in the are to recreate the original setup. They have nice grounds with picnic tables and art affects on display.
