  • If you like the history of America and the Expansion of the country this Monument, the nearby Steamboat Museum and the Lewis and Clark Interpretation Museum are must see. Lots of really great information and artifacts.
  • This monument to Sergeant Floyd, of the Corps of Discovery lead by Merriweather Lewis and William Clark, is very well designed and superbly maintained. One can not miss the obelisk on the hill from I-29. It's easy to get to and provides a unique look at the history of the expansion of America. One thing that stood out to me was the use of the correct United States of America flag on the hill. As you can see in the photo attached, and you will see in person, the flag flown at the time of this expedition is the only one to have fifteen stars and fifteen stripes. Another neat aspect of this location is the ability to view three states at one time. You can see Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.
