  • This was a really neat house to tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the house. Enjoyed going and would recommend stopping there.  more »
  • I never miss to visit the turn of the century mansions to see what the upper class lived like back in those days. I love antiques so you most likely to see some beautiful pieces. I highly recommend....  more »

  • Hands down, one of the best house tours I’ve ever taken (and I have taken a few). The gorgeous Victorian home itself is resplendent with a variety of original furniture, fixtures, and artifacts. What was not personally owned or installed by Senator Pettigrew is mostly period correct, and lovely! I also really liked a peek into the kitchen, as most old homes leave that, and other service focused rooms, out. Further - our tour guide was FANTASTIC. He was super knowledgeable about the home and Sioux Falls history. We learned a lot! Also it’s free!!!!
  • This is a return visit after nine years, and it's still as beautiful. The fireplaces are exquisite and the architecture is very grand. However, there isn't as much of original pieces as I had hoped, but a lot of the decor is of the time period (you can't have everything). Our tour guide was really nice, but read almost everything off an iPad. She just needed to work on her delivery a bit if she needs to do that. After the tour there are exhibits of early Sioux Falls. Great place to visit, and it's free.
