  • Steep trail that was marked moderate on all trails. Not a trail for those not in reasonably good shape. There were two kayaks and a SUP on the lake that were provided by town of Skagway. Good hike...

  • Short but straight up the hill at times, I had to pause for a minute or two to catch my breath and I think I"m in pretty good shape for a 55 y/o. Provides scenic views of Skagway and the Cruise...

  • Great hike (although steep) if you're in Skagway
  • We came across the trail by chance near the little train station in Skagway and decided it was just what we were looking for. The first .9 mile hike to the lake was medium to difficult with a 500 foot elevation gain and lots of rocks to navigate. Once at the lakes we followed the trail all the way around heading south first. The trail on the west side of the lake was wide, clear, and mostly level. Very easy to walk, with beautiful views of the lake with mountains and greenery. The trail on the west side of the lake after the earthen berm dam became quite difficult with large boulders to climb over and large roots in the path. We weren't expecting such a workout, but overall it was a beautiful hike.
