Adagio Teas, Skokie

This shop has an excellent selection of teas and various tea making tools and appliances, but the customer service is terrible. The employees are clearly commission driven and aggressively try to up-sell you. They’re also precious about giving out samples, which they (ironically) pride themselves on offering for the purposes of tastings. The manager ran the register the other day and shamed me for spending under $25 and inquiring about offers, then made a big show of charitably giving me a single packet of loose leaves without any mention of a strainer. Skip the trip and buy online. I will.

I was immediately greeted by Anette I. as I walked in the store. I am new to Adagio teas and she made me feel welcomed. She proceeded to show me where and how certain teas were grouped. I chose my tea (I was looking for a passion fruit tea) and got registered for a rewards account AND they give a free sample of tea with every purchase. Fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Oh and they also offer to make you a sample of a certain tea (will do next time). Definitely recommend! (the tea on top was the free sample)
