The history of the Cocopah Indian Tribe is very interesting. The museum gift shop has great items that are reasonably priced and the staff is outstanding.

This is a lovely museum. The Cocopahs put alot of time and effort into it. You will learn alot about them as an underappreciated tribe in the Southwest. For example: when prisoners escaped from the prison or a soldier went AWOL, the government would hire a couple of Cocopahs to track them and bring them back. The white men sent after thrm would just kill them and bring back the bodies. They have different dwellings to show how they used to live, examples of cooking places, and a really nice gift shop and NONE ofvtbe things sold there were made in China or Korea!! All local crafts and thats nice!!
