In 1892 Chester A. Asher founded his candy making business after coming to Philadelphia, from Canada, just two years earlier. The company began in center city Philadelphia, moving to its former location in historical Germantown. Later, the Executive Offices and Shipping were in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, with the renovated manufacturing facilities in Germantown and Lewistown, Pennsylvania.Plan a Souderton trip in moments using our itinerary builder.
Mr. Asher’s expertise was passed on to the second generation–four sons–who ran the business until 1966. C.A. Asher is still family owned and under the direction of the third and fourth consecutive Asher generations.
Asher’s success story lies in having built a reputation for making quality candy with the freshest and purest ingredients available. Close supervision and direction at the factory, every day, assures that the quality is maintained.
Asher’s offers a wide selection of chocolates and other confections from Pecan Pralines to our award-winning Chocolate Covered Pretzels, and creamy Fudge. We also have one of the largest lines of Sugar Free, Low Sodium Chocolates in the industry.
The tradition of producing fine quality chocolates continues. Asher’s Chocolates is located in their corporate headquarters in Souderton, Pennsylvania. This 125,000 square foot building now houses the Factory, the Executive Offices and Shipping. The specialty lines still remain in Lewistown.

I buy a variety of Asher's Chocolates wholesale for my store in the summer time because it's impossible to keep up with the tourist's demands with my setup. This company has a great customer service team. They are super knowledgeable and really care about us. Keep up the great work! Hopefully will see you guys at the Philadelphia Chocolate Show this September!

Asher's is well worth visit. The store is small but they have a huge variety of chocolate. If you go on a week day you can see the employees making chocolate. They also give a few samples.
