The museum offers a variety of exhibits, including the history of the WWII Liberty shipyards in South Portland, local lighthouses and their keepers, South Portland's and Maine's involvement in the Civil War, the sardine canning industry, historic horse racing tracks, and more. One exhibit uses a local neighborhood to show how the invention and increased use of the automobile has changed American neighborhoods.
