The Museum building was originally the Spencerport Trolley Depot which serviced Spencerport as a stop on the Rochester, Lockport and Buffalo interurban trolley line from 1908 to 1931.

In the 1930's it was moved to Amity St. and turned into a house. In 2002, Maxine Davison bought and donated the building to the Village of Spencerport so that it could be "used for the good of the community"

On May 23, 2005 the building was moved to its current location and restored. Thanks to many hours of volunteer work Spencerport now has this lovely museum showcasing artifacts and the history of the village.

It also serves as a visitor center with shower facilities and restrooms for boaters who are able to dock outside.

  • This small but sweet museum has a display of local history along with that of the canal. Showers and restrooms are available. And the volunteers are the best!! They are so nice and knowledgeable...

  • We are staying on our boat at the town dock. There are restroom and showers that are very clean and well maintained. We were provided information to make us welcome.
