An engineering feat, the architecture of The House on the Rock integrates each room into and around a tower of rock. "The Infinity Room" extends 66 m (218 ft) without any supports underneath for its 3,000-plus windows. The house began as a vision of the owner, Alex Jordan, in 1945, and additions were made to the original house over the years. Jordan's curious collections complement the quirky architecture. You'll spot a re-creation of an early 20th-century American town, plus a giant sculpture of a sea creature. Put a coin in to hear and see the automaton room of instruments in action. This is such a unique place to visit, both the home and the other buildings. The original house is full of interesting architecture and a mix of interior design elements I haven't seen combined like this anywhere else. The other sections host a variety of collections, giant automated musical performance displays, whimsical scenery, and a lot of near-magical surprises. Like my personal favorite since I was little, the indoor carousel. If you want to see all three sections arrive at least 3 hours before closing time.

This is truly a once and a life time experience. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s weird, yes, but it’s unique and interesting. It’s a lot of walking, but I made it through with not many problems. As someone who has a hard time walking due to health problems it wasn’t too bad until the end. I was very tired as I went through the last few rooms but it was so worth it. My favorite exhibits were the heritage of the sea, the carousel, the tribute to nostalgia, and the music of yesterday. We also met some cool and nice people during our time there :) If you are staying in the area overnight I recommend the House on the Rock Resort. It’s beautiful, nice rooms, and a cute little gift shop. We stayed 2 nights and visited some cool shops and enjoyed the nature and scenery. This was an amazing experience.
