  • We were driven from Peck's to put into the River at Tower Hill State Park . Nice landing. We took a detour on the River to paddle up Mill Creek to the Shot Tower. Interesting!

  • Not the best park if you want to do a lot of hiking within a trip. The park is mostly focused on the historic lead mining shaft, and the trails are fairly short and lead up to the top of the mining tunnel/building. However, there is like a mini museum at the top that teaches all about the mining history and it is quite interesting! It is still a beautiful place to visit and they have nice campsites that allow pets. It is also right on the Wisconsin river.
  • Nice campground. My advice is to stay away from site #9. We booked this campsite having never been there before. IT IS A HILL! We picked the flattest spot away from the fire pit and still ended up sliding off our cots. 😆 Not sure the pictures do it justice. Anyway we laughed it off and had a great trip. I would also heed other people's reviews and bring LOTS of bug spray as there are TONS of mosquitos. The toilets are what you would expect from a primitive campsite park. Pit style and in need of a good clean. All in all I would stay here again. The scenery is beautiful and it was very quiet.
