Pay tribute to one of the nation’s most iconic leaders at Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. One of the most-visited presidential libraries in the country, the museum features an extensive collection of artifacts and memorabilia documenting the life and political career of the 16th U.S. president, as well as the events of the American Civil War. Venture through the “Pre-Presidential Years” exhibit to tour a life-size replica of Lincoln’s childhood home, then head to the “Presidential Years” section to view an original handwritten Gettysburg Address and signed Emancipation Proclamation. Don’t miss a visit to the life-size diorama of the presidential box at Ford’s Theatre, the site of Lincoln’s 1865 assassination. Wow!! Classy, informative and just the right size. Everyone should see this. If you know a lot about Lincoln, you’ll learn more. If you don’t know much, it’s the perfect introduction. Well laid...

Very nicely done Presidential Library & Museum on Lincoln. Very informative in such a small area. The movies, there are 2, were really done well.

This museum is absolutely amazing! Coming from a museum studies background, the Abraham Lincoln museum truly has a unique and refreshing take on how a museum is run. It was recommended to us to watch the movies first, and we are glad that we did. After watching the movies, we were able to get a better sense of Abraham Lincoln as we walked through the rest of the museum. The War Gallery was an inventive way to have visitors read and learn about each of the many photographs in the gallery. We would recommend this museum to any museum lover or those wanting to learn more about Abraham Lincoln and his life!

Went for the first time today and it was wonderful! There is so much to read and learn that I’m sure I missed a lot! The exhibits are wonderfully done, so many beautiful things to see. They have many authentic pieces behind glass and they had 2 amazing short shows today, they were so neat! Definitely not what I thought I was walking into. The staff was very nice, helpful, and informative. I will definitely be back and I’m sure I will find a ton that I missed! I also strongly suggest doing the scavenger hunt they provide, it makes you really look for the information and adds some extra excitement to it! They have an online version or a hard copy! Even the gift shop had a ton of cool stuff!! I couldn’t believe this experience was only $15! A really good price for the education and fun! The staff also informed us a new exhibit will be opening in March, I am excited to go back and see it!
