  • If you see the "new" capital then the old capital is a really good comparison of old and new. It was about 45 min - 1 hour to zip through.

  • The architecture is exemplary and symbolizes the beauty of old age! Standing in one of the last governmental cathedrals is dazzling. The docents are very informative and knowledgeable about the history of The Old State Capitol. If available, go on the guided tour to fully immerse yourself in the experience. Oh, yea, I forgot to mention, it's also 100% free!!! The building is also accessibility friendly; there is an accessible entrance and elevator. Spend some time on the grounds and stand in the exact location where Lincoln gave his "House Divided" Speech. There are plenty of artifacts, artworks, President Lincoln factoids, and a video presentation for the whole family. All around, it's a spectacle of its era!
  • Interesting contrast between "new" and "old". Pretty much what you'd expect. Characters portraying Abe Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln are EXCELLENT! be sure to catch them at one of the Lincoln venues, fabulous!
