Take an underground journey to see and touch the majestic geological features of Fantastic Caverns. Since its discovery in 1862, the cave has had a dynamic history. During prohibition it was used as a speakeasy, and later as a concert venue. Today it's a major attraction that draws more than 100,000 visitors every year. Taking a tour of the cave doesn't require any walking, making it especially convenient for small children and seniors. You can see the entire cave from the comfort of a jeep-drawn tram hosted by a tour guide. At certain spots, you are allowed to touch the stalactites. The temperature inside the cave is a steady 15 degrees C (60 degrees F) throughout the year, so you might want to bring a light jacket or a sweater. Pricing for the tour was a bit high, but our guide was WONDERFUL and the cave itself is just AMAZING!!! The museum/gift shop had the most wonderful descriptive picture of the cave labeling everything out like an elevated middle school project. It was so neat and so easy to read and understand the history of the cave!!! This is education turned to fun!!!

I have wanted to go here since I was a kid. I'm now 36 and this was so fascinating. My 7, 9, & 17 year old even enjoyed it. Our tour guide was Michael. He is very knowledgeable and a perfect storyteller. Crazy to think that a dog discovered the cavern. I'll not ruin the tour, so you must check it out!
