The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is located in Springfield, Missouri, United States. Founded by Springfield businessman John Q. Hammons in 1994, the Hall of Fame showcases over 4,000 items of sports memorabilia and exhibits related to Missouri amateur and professional athletics. The two-story, 32,000 square foot building also features a number of interactive presentations that allow visitors to experience auto racing in the NASCAR simulator, step into the batters box against a Major League Baseball pitcher, throw football passes, and much more. Adjacent to the Hall is the Legends Walk of Fame, a plaza-like outdoor setting featuring busts and statuary of notable Show-Me state sports figures honored with the yearly Legends Award.Work out when and for how long to visit Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and other Springfield attractions using our handy Springfield trip itinerary maker app.
Missouri Sports Hall of Fame reviews
We stopped here with the kids and they had a few interactive exhibits for stock car racing, football and baseball. The displays were interesting and in addition to the professional sports leagues..... more »
See a lot of Missouri sports history in one place. great for the kids and adults. I would recommend this place more »
This place is spectacular no matter your sport it's here. From bronze statues outside to a variety of paraphernalia and facts inside. Baseball to wrestling and everything in between. If you haven't spent the day here, you've definitely done yourself a disfavor if you're any kind of sports fan. Two floors of Missouri Sports History is a must see for every person who has been involved in sports, whether an announcer/commentator, spectator or participator.
This was my 3rd trip to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and my wife's first. Surprisingly, we practically had the place to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon. That just gave us more time to take in the many displays on Missouri sports (at a very reasonable price of just $5 per adult). You will find exhibits on many different sports, with baseball, football, and basketball having the greatest emphasis, but there's also smaller displays on sports such as NASCAR, tennis, horse racing, and branches of sports such as broadcasting, coaching, officiating, and sports medicine. And since we were able to take in a lot of information found there, we were very surprised to see people with ties to our high schools' (from which we graduated 10+ years prior) sports teams in the hall. The Hall of Fame was definitely the highlight of our trip to Springfield, and if you're a fan of any of Missouri's 5 pro sports teams or its college teams, it just may be the highlight of yours too.
