Explore the historical campus of Flagler College, named after the famous industrialist Henry Morrison Flagler. You can wander the grounds on your own or take a student-led tour that grants access to more rooms. The centerpiece of the campus is Ponce de Leon Hall. The Spanish Renaissance-style building, a National Historic Landmark, was built in 1888 as a luxurious hotel, but today serves as a dining hall and residence hall for female students. Gaze up at the dining hall ceiling to see 200 hand-painted lions with lightbulbs in their mouths. The building also has colorful stained-glass windows and mosaics. Leave time to relax in the scenic college grounds. Plan your visit to Flagler College and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our St. Augustine trip builder app.

  • Both a functioning college and a historical site. Unfortunately, at least while college is in session, access is restricted. You can walk in the lobby but not up the stairs or into the wings Walking around the outside you see nice peaceful green spaces an majestic historical architecture. Worth a walk around for 30 minutes to an hour.
  • We had a fabulous tour from Jess today. This charming young woman provided in depth knowledge of the Flagler legacy and enough humor to keep her audience interested. Jess' voice could even be heard by us hearing challenged individuals.
