Explore and admire one of Florida's oldest and grandest sites of worship, Memorial Presbyterian Church. The imposing building was inspired by St. Mark's Basilica in Venice and features a number of expensive materials and intricate decoration. Henry Morrison Flagler, a famous American industrialist, commissioned the church in 1889 as a memorial to his daughter and infant granddaughter, who both died due to complications during childbirth. Approach one of the church docents to learn not only about the building, but also Flagler's fascinating life. The church's mausoleum serves as the final resting place for Flagler, his first wife, their daughter, and her baby. • This is a beautiful church in the heart of St. Augustine’s old town! On our tour, we learned Henry Flagler built this church in honor of his daughter. Despite this church being over 100 years old, it took less than a year to complete! Definitely worth walking a few minutes from the main street to get some photos!
  • One of the most beautiful buildings of St Augustine. Haven't been inside though but totally worth visiting it, just to get some pics. It's gorgeous.
