#6 of 24 in Tours in St. Pete Beach
Scuba / Snorkeling · Dolphin / Whale Watching
Shell Key Shuttle offers eco-friendly tours of a small barrier island sheltering sensitive marine habitats and serving as an important nesting and wintering area for various shore birds. This tour operator takes visitors to the part of the island open to the public, providing easy access to some of Florida's finest shelling, swimming, and bird- and dolphin-watching areas. Beach umbrellas and snorkeling masks are included in your ticket price, so all you have to bring is sunscreen and a towel. Although shuttle reservations aren't required, these tours operate in good weather only, so be sure to check the forecast before your visit. Boat rides to the island are about 10 minutes long; sunset cruises are available on certain days. Check the online visitor guide and call to confirm shuttle departure and return times. • Very wonderful and accommodating people. Their boat allows infants to seniors so everyone is welcome. They do have wheelchair accessability at the boat ramp but I would ask about how they would get a wheelchair off the boat once you got to the island. You get a parking pass for $3 for the day. There are no amenities on the island but they do have bathrooms snacks water and anything you might need to purchase to take over to the island right there at the dock. I highly recommend a quick trip over takes about 10 minutes
  • Great experience. It was sunny at 70, which was perfect. A little chilly on the boat, but once on the key, it was fine. Shelling is awesome and no signs of red tide.
