For a glimpse at the creative process of a master of Surrealism, visit The Dali Museum. Here you'll see the largest collection of Salvador Dali's works outside Europe. The museum contains works from the private collection of Albert and Eleanor Morse, Dali's patrons and friends for over four decades. The collection includes 96 oil paintings, 100 watercolors and drawings, and over 1,000 graphics, photographs, and sculptures. Pay special attention to the seven works considered Dali's masterpieces, including a metaphorical representation of Christopher Columbus' discovery of America, which took nearly four years to complete. For a taste of traditional Spanish fare, stop by the on-site restaurant, named after Dali's wife Gala. With our world travel planner, St. Petersburg attractions like The Dali Museum can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Amazing museum, definitely need to see it while in St. Pete! The permanent collection of Dali's work is immaculate with some readily recognizable pieces, and others that you really have to look closely at to see all of the amazing detail placed into his work. The building itself is gorgeous, and outside there are Dali references sprinkled around, even as you're walking up the front steps. The rotating exhibit on the third floor was cool to see, and they had another Dali piece stashed away in there! You also absolutely have to walk through the garden outside, lots of fun photo opportunities! Lastly, don't forget to attach your wristband to the wish tree! You can do it yourself, or you can leave it in a box up front for museum staff to put on the tree for you (but it's more fun and personal to do it yourself).

The Dali Museum is a real masterpiece of art in itself. Perfectly placed for lunch or dinner after your visit. The collection is outstanding. The layout takes you through Dali's life and work. The lighting is just right. The staff is very helpful. There's an app you can connect to that gives you the history of each painting. I will go again the next time I'm near.
