Mills Norrie State Park, Staatsburg

We stayed at this campground for 3 nights though we paid for four. No hook-ups, which we can do fine, but the water access is hard to get to in out 33 ft motor coach. The teenage girls at the check-in hut were less than helpful. The bathrooms were NOT clean any time we went. The shower was so small I hit elbows on the nasty walls and there was nowhere to undress or get dressed outside the shower except out in the open in the bathroom! Had to wrap in a towel and go into a stall. The men’s shower wand was disintegrating. The sites were muddy and there was no privacy between them. We were so disappointed because other NY state parks are so well kept. This area is packed with historical places to visit and the towns are so cute and manicured that the contrast in the way this campground is maintained is unbelievable. We will find a different spot to camp next time we come to visit our longtime friend.

The park along the river is beautiful. There are picnic tables and grills available. There are great views up and down the river. There is a marina with a reasonably priced public boat launch. The camping area has cabins and tent sites.
