The largest commercial cave in the state, Meramec Caverns shows how an ancient limestone wine table and seven-story mansion were built underground. Trained rangers lead guided tours along the well-lit, wheelchair-accessible pathways through the caverns, which previously served as a hideout for the notorious outlaw Jesse James. The tour ends with a light-and-music show in a theater inside the caverns. After your tour, cruise the river by boat; zipline over it; rent a canoe; or pan for fool’s gold, fossils, and gemstones. A must see for anybody in Missouri. The tours are absolutely wonderful and come with a fun show at the end for all ages. The area surrounding Meramec Caverns is absolutely gorgeous and offers many attractions such as boat rides and zip lining. The gift shop here is neat and has a little something for just about anybody. If you’re looking for a bite to eat, there is also an ice cream/ snack bar located right next to the cave/tour entrance. Will be back and will continue with my family for many generations to come!

Meramec Cavern was a great place to visit. Emma was our guide and she was awesome. We went later in the day and we were the only two people in the group. Emma was very friendly and answered all of our questions. She didn't skimp on the information even though we were the only two there. I would definitely recommend her for the tour. The light show was really neat. Great time!
