  • This is a beautiful little hidden gem of a park. It's not very big, so you can hike most of it in half a day or so. Of the backpacking sites, I think the Kettle Lake site has the most remarkable location. It feels like another world, surrounded by the compact prairie hills. The swimming area on Signalness Lake doesn't have a proper sand beach shoreline, but the lake is sandy and the water is cool and clear. Definitely worth it!
  • Located in the remnants of the last Glacial Age, Glacial Lakes SP preserves landforms from that time offering steep rolling hills and sweeping prairie vistas that literally took my breath away and made me say 'wow' while simultaneously playing the 'Journey to the Buffalo Killing Grounds' theme from Dances with Wolves. Approach from the SW (Benson, T-50) for the full effect of these vistas. Hiking, swimming and canoeing are on offer here as well as those rolling hills.
