The Narrows is the tidal strait separating the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn in New York City, United States. It connects the Upper New York Bay and Lower New York Bay and forms the principal channel by which the Hudson River empties into the Atlantic Ocean. The Narrows is a lovely area of New York City. Neighborhoods on both sides are great for checking out the view, especially the path on the Brooklyn side that runs from 69th Street Pier all the way out to Bay Parkway. The view of the bridge from the Brooklyn side is unobstructed in most places. If you'd like to see an absolutely beautiful sunset, be on the Brooklyn bicycle path and just look straight west.
