  • Ski resort was very nice. We took snowboarding lessons. Fun restaurants are atop the mountain that you have to take the gondola too.  more »

  • Cool place for the entire family. Very upscale and picturesque. The entrance fee was a bit pricey, but our kids had a good time. The Alpine slide was definitely the centerpiece of our visit--it goes pretty fast, but the car allows you to control your own speed. It was worth doing at least once.
  • Steamboat isn’t the biggest ski resort in Colorado. Its not the biggest mountain. It’s not the tallest mountain. It doesn’t have the most skiable acreage. So why go here and not, say, vail? Because steamboat, unlike Vail, is an actual place. It’s not fake. It’s been here for more than a hundred years. The skiing, in addition, has a vibe unlike any I have experienced in the USA and it’s kind of my favorite place to ski. And that’s saying something since I grew up in Switzerland. The mountain is spectacular. The terrain is extraordinary. Wide open and spacious but with a below tree line terrain unlike no other. And the snow quality is light and fluffy and amazing. I could write a book. Go here as soon as you can!!
  • I must be biased from growing up here, but you can’t beat the skiing in Steamboat! Steamboat is world famous for Champagne Powder and gladed tree skiing. I also love the lack of lines, the wide variety of terrain and the fact that most skiers on the mountain (and even some snowboarders 😀) really know what they are doing. The on mountain food is also great. Especially at Ragnars and Four Points. The newly remodeled base area will be great this winter!
  • Steamboat Springs has done a fantastic job of having activities for everyone & every taste. From weekly movies in Steamboat Square, to the Community owned Botanic Gardens to alpine slides, hot springs, the Yampa River trail through town, hiking, scenic Fish Falls at over 200 feet to family fun centers to easy public transportation. We have LOVED our stay here and we'll come back. One con is that it costs $25 to ride the Gondola up the mountain where Breckenridge & Telluride is free. This is a well developed and well managed town and one to which we'll return.
  • Summer visit was great. Such a beautiful area. The day pass for the attractions in the hill are family friendly. Look for coupons to save a couple bucks, but a good value for all that is included.
