  They certainly love large statues along I-94 in North Dakota. Sandy is located just off the interstate, and provides one with an excuse to get off the road and stretch ones legs. I have been to...  more »

  It's a giant crane. Kind of cool because many people don't realize that North Dakota has a population of cranes that frequent the rivers and lakes. This particular oversized crane is visible from the interstate. My martial arts crew has a tradition of saluting it as we pass, as the crane is considered a teacher and sign of good luck in Eastern martial arts traditions.
